Privacy Policy

Last Updated: March 2026

At TempMail, your privacy is our primary mission. As a service designed explicitly to protect your personal identity and minimize your digital footprint, our privacy policy is straightforward: we collect as little data as technically possible to provide you with functional temporary email services.

1. Information We Collect

Anonymous Users: When you generate a temporary inbox without logging in, we store the randomly generated email address and the inbound messages associated with it. This data is strictly temporary and is permanently purged when your session expires or when you manually discard the inbox. We do not track IP addresses or device fingerprints for anonymous sessions.

Registered Users (Pro): If you choose to create an account to access premium features like permanent aliases, we collect your authentication details (provided securely via Google or GitHub OAuth) and an email address necessary for account recovery. This information is siloed from your active temporary mail routing data to preserve anonymity.

2. Data Storage and Retention

  • Temporary Emails: We process inbound emails via edge deployment routers. Messages are temporarily buffered in our MongoDB instance exclusively for immediate retrieval by your active browser session.
  • Data Purging: Once an anonymous inbox is deleted or abandoned, the associated cryptographic tokens and message content arrays are hard-deleted. We do not maintain "soft deletes" or archives of temporary emails.
  • Secure Transport: All data in transit between our mail receiver and your browser is encrypted via industry-standard TLS (HTTPS).

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your data, browsing habits, or email content to third parties, advertisers, or data brokers. TempMail is funded strictly through our premium Pro subscriptions, ensuring our financial incentives align perfectly with protecting your privacy rather than exploiting it.

4. Compliance and Legal Requests

While we architect our infrastructure to know as little about our users as possible, we comply with legally binding court orders from competent jurisdictions. However, because we continuously purge transient data and do not maintain historical logs of anonymous traffic, we cannot provide data that has already been erased by our automated lifecycle management.
